Friday

Georg Reiss quartet

We are proud to present the talented Majken Christiansen with her inspiring vocals and long history as a swing jazz singer who will join us for the first time this year. Maiken has a strong, magnetic stage presence that will make your feet dance and your soul smile. On clarinet and saxophone we have the amazing Norwegian Jazz musician Georg Reiss, who will keep us dancing with the help from Bård Helgerud´s heartfelt guitar playing and Svein Aarbostad´s steady upright bass. Georg has played in renowned bands such as Magnolia Jazzband and Ytre Suløen Jass-ensemble. You can look forward to some amazing solo’s and playfull musical interaction between these renowned musicians. Majken and our instrumentalists will take us through some classic slow jazz music and also some more fast paced swing during the evening.

Ada and her Swinging Jazzhoppers

If you’ve been lucky enough to experience this band before you know they are some of the swingiest swingers in town, and they have tailored a fantastic setlist specially for this event. To perform these tunes perfect for slow bal and regular bal they bring a smaller ensemble, with Ada Mathea Hoel on vocals and upright bass. This will for sure be a magical evening full of mellow tunes, attentive improvisation and mesmerising rhythms. Let’s slide the night away!
